Hestra PRO

90 years of craftsmanship, with roots in gloves for lumberjacks

Our story began in the spring of 1936, when Martin Magnusson started crafting gloves for the forestry workers of Småland in Sweden. The forest was their workplace, and their hands endured the harshest of conditions, especially during the winters. Martin came to the conclusion that leather with reinforced rivets was the best solution. The gloves became durable while giving a good grip. The top was made of warming wool.

Today, glove-making offers far greater technical possibilities, and the needs of working hands are more diverse. We design gloves for outdoor work in all kinds of weather, as well as precision-fit gloves for landscaping, gardening, and assembly. Every pair is carefully tested and CE-certified to meet European standards. And because we believe in responsibility, our company is also certified under the ISO 14001 environmental management system. Still, the values of our great grandfather built into his first gloves remain at the heart of everything we do.

At Hestra, we start with the hands themselves. Gloves should protect, support, and make work easier — all while preserving touch and dexterity. Leather remains one of our favorite materials and we reinforce our designs where the wear is greatest.

For us at Hestra, gloves will always be a craft.
